Delivering a truly unique beach party experience in a beautiful location, Stop Making Sense returns to Croatia’s picture-perfect Dalmatian Coast for its fifth year, from July 31 to August 3 2014. An essential stopover on the festival-holiday calendar, Stop Making Sense is renowned for providing an escape, perfectly soundtracked by carefully selected DJs and artists who really bring this event to life.
Collaborating with electronic music’s most inventive collectives, prolific and passionate promoters, world-renowned DJs and artistic personalities, Stop Making Sense combines the tranquillity of a beach paradise with the excitement of a dance music festival. At Stop Making Sense participating crews carefully select artists and DJs, curating lineups that deliver a unique and intimate experience.
For 2014 Stop Making Sense links up with Will Saul’s pivotal label Aus Music which returns for a second time, Glasgow’s legendary Sub Club is in full effect, and Corsica Studios’ flagship night Trouble Vision and the legendary Warm gang bring the party once again. South London’s Get Diverted make their debut appearance, and East London scoundrels Orlando Boom are back for their third year, and Dalston Superstore residents Abattoir make their first trip out to Croatia. And with Danza Macabra, Lovesick and Croatia Calling completing the promoter lineup, 2014 is going to be a bumper year. And there’s still a promoter announcement to come, as well as headliners from each crew and a full lineup.
Located in the Croatian town of Tisno, Stop Making Sense makes full use of its stunning surroundings, with stages including the beach bar, the wood stage, set among the Mediterranean pines and oak trees, and the outdoor nightclub Barbarella’s Discotheque, where the party continues until sunrise. Providing 18 hours a day of music to move you, Stop Making Sense offers house, techno and electro, funk, soul and disco, and boat parties host revellers, taking in some of the idyllic sights of the coast. Enjoy the tunes at the tiki bar, feast in the town, lounge on the beach, or simply dance in the sunshine like it’s all that matters.
Aus Music, home to the likes of Bicep, Dusky, Midland and George Fitzgerald to name a few, feature for the second year running. Founded in 1987 Glasgow’s legendary venue and electronic music haven Sub Club are curating what will undoubtedly be an impressive roster of cutting-edge DJs. With a music policy that seems to follow the simple statute “if it’s good we’ll book it” London promoter Trouble Vision sets the bar high.
Having thrown parties for over 13 years London-based Warm are back for 2014, while Brixton’s Get Diverted also proudly represent, bringing with them a long tradition of terrace parties. Long-running night Orlando Boom, having seen Erol Alkan, Duke Dumont and Daniel Avery behind the decks, will take in the sights of Stop Making Sense, while “acidtechnodeepdisco” veterans Abattoir get set for their first Stop Making Sense event. Slovenia’s Danza Macabra Records, the ever eclectic Lovesick and local party starters Croatia Calling complete the lineup. As Stop Making Sense celebrates a landmark fifth outing, 2014 is looking like being its most triumphant year.
A summer haven for music lovers, festival-goers and holidaymakers alike, Stop Making Sense simply needs to be experienced to be believed.
